প্রোফেজের প্রথম দিকে, মাইটোসিসের প্রথম পর্যায়ে ক্রোমোসোমগুলি হালকা মাইক্রোস্কোপের সাহায্যে দৃশ্যমান হয় যেমন তারা সংকীর্ণ হয় (অর্থাৎ, তারা ছোট, কুণ্ডলী, এবং পুরু)। এছাড়াও, একটি স্পিন্ডলযন্ত্র  দুইটি সেন্ট্রোসোমের প্রতিটি থেকে বাইরের দিকে প্রসারিত হয়।

In Early Prophase

Early in the prophase, chromosomes in the early stages of mitosis are visible with the help of a light microscope as they narrow (i.e., they are small, coiled, and thick). Also, a spindle extends outward from each of the two centrosomes.
