এটি শুধু একটি তরঙ্গ চৌবাচ্চা যা মূলত একাডেমিক কার্যক্রমে বহুল ব্যবহৃত হয়ে থাকে। যেখানে জলতরঙ্গ উৎপাদন করে তরঙ্গের ধর্মাবলী পর্যবেক্ষণ করা হয়। এখানে অপবর্তন ও ব্যতিচার ধর্মাবলী অধ্যয়ন করা যায়। 
অপবর্তন হলো তরঙ্গ প্রবাহের দিক বেঁকে যাওয়া যখন তা কোন ছিদ্রের মধ্য দিয়ে পরিচালিত হয় এবং ঐ ছিদ্রের পরিমাণ যদি তরঙ্গ দৈর্ঘ্যরে সমমাত্রার হয়ে থাকে। 
ব্যতিচার হলো কোন সময়ে একাধিক তরঙ্গ প্রবাহের লব্ধি। প্রতিটি তরঙ্গের সরণ ভেক্টর হিসেবে বিবেচিত। ফলে, সকল ভেক্টরের যোজিত ফল উপরিপাতন নামে অভিহিত

This exhibit is just a wave tank which frequently used in academic purpose to produce water waves and to study the properties of the wave. Here diffraction and interference properties of the wave can be studied.

Diffraction is the bending of waves when passing through hole of aperture of same order of wave length.

Interference is the resultant of more than one waves passing at same instant. The displacement of each wave can be considered as vector. So, addition of these vectors can be termed as superposition.
