হার্ডিঞ্জ ব্রিজের মডেল
হার্ডিঞ্জ সেতু একটি ইস্পাত নির্মিত রেলসেতু যা পদ্মা নদীর উপরে পাবনা জেলার ঈশ্বরদী উপজেলার অন্তর্গত পাকশীতে অবস্থিত। তৎকালীন ভারতের বড় লাট,লর্ড হার্ডিঞ্জের নামানুসারে সেতুটির নামকরণ করা হয়। ১.৮ কি.মি.(প্রায়) দৈর্ঘ্য বিশিষ্ট দেশের দ্বিতীয় বৃহত্তম এই রেলওয়ে সেতুটির নকশাকার ছিলেন আলেকজান্ডার মেডাস রেনডেল। ব্রিটিশ প্রকৌশলী স্যার রবার্ট গেইলস নির্মাণটিতে মুখ্য প্রকৌশলী হিসেবে কাজ করেন। ৪ মার্চ,১৯১৫ সালে লর্ড হার্ডিঞ্জ সেতুটি উদ্বোধন করেন। এই সেতুর নির্মাণকাল ১৯১০-১৯১৫। বাংলাদেশের স্বাধীনতা যুদ্ধের সময়, ১৯৭১ সালের ১৩ ডিসেম্বর, সেতুটি মারাত্মকভাবে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয়। পাকিস্তানী সেনাবাহিনী যশোর অভিমুখে পিছু হটে যাওয়ায় সেতুটি কৌশলগত ভাবে খুবই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ছিল। যুদ্ধশেষে বাংলাদেশ ও ভারতের যৌথ উদ্যোগে ১৯৭২ সালের ১২ অক্টোবর সেতুটি পুনরায় চালু করা হয়। সেতুটি পুনর্নির্মাণে জাপানি সরকার সাহায্য করে। ১৯৮৮ সালে হার্ডিঞ্জ ব্রিজের মডেলটি নির্মাণ করে রেলপথ কারখানা এবং সেতু কারখানা, সৈয়দপুর থেকে হার্ডিঞ্জ ব্রিজের মডেলটি নির্মাণ করা হয়। সেতুটি বাংলাদেশের পশ্চিমাঞ্চলের স্থাপত্য শিল্পের এক অনন্য উদাহরণ।
Hardinge Bridge is a steel railway bridge over the river Padma located at Paksey, Ishwardi, Pabna in western Bangladesh. It is named after Lord Hardinge, who was the then Viceroy of India. The bridge is almost 1.8 kilometres in length and the second largest railway bridge of the country. Alexander Meadows Rendel was the architect of the bridge . British engineer Sir Robert Gailes worked as the chief engineer of the constriction . Finally on 4 March ,1915 Lord Hardinge inaugurated the bridge. During the Liberation War of Bangladesh the bridge was severely damaged on the 13th December,1971. After the liberation, the bridge was reopened on 12 October 1972, repaired by the joint venture of Bangladesh and India.The Japanese Government helped to reconstruct the bridge . In 1988,the Hardinge bridge model was constructed by |Railway Factory and Bridge Factory,Saidpur. The railway bridge is an unique example of architectural industry in western Bangladesh.

মুনীরা সুলতানা এনডিসি, অনানুষ্ঠানিক বিজ্ঞান শিক্ষা কার্যক্রমের মাধ্যমে একটি বিজ্ঞানমনস্ক জাতি গঠনের লক্ষে ৩১ অক্টোবর, ২০২৪খ্রিঃ তারিখে জাতীয় বিজ্ঞান ও প্রযুক্তি জাদুঘরের মহাপরিচালক হিসেবে দায়িত্ব গ্রহণ করেন।
তিনি ১৯৯৩ সালে বাংলাদেশ সিভিল সার্ভিস প্রশাসন ক্যাডারে যোগদানের মধ্য দিয়ে কর্মজীবন শুরু করেন। তিনি বেশিরভাগ সময় বিভিন্ন মন্ত্রণালয় ও অধিদপ্তরে এবং মাঠ প্রশাসনে দায়িত্ব পালন করেন। ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে উদ্ভিদবিদ্যা বিভাগ থেকে তিনি স্নাতকোত্তর ডিগ্রি অর্জন করেন। চাকরিতে কর্মরত অবস্থায় তিনি নর্দান ইউনিভার্সিটি, ঢাকা থেকে গভর্নেন্স স্টাডিজ বিষয়ে দ্বিতীয় স্নাতকোত্তর ডিগ্রি অর্জন করেন। তিনি ২০১৮ সালে ন্যাশনাল ডিফেন্স কলেজ থেকে ন্যাশনাল ডিফেন্স কোর্স সাফল্যের সাথে সম্পন্ন করেন।
চাকুরিরত অবস্থায় তিনি দেশে এবং বিদেশে বিভিন্ন পেশাগত প্রশিক্ষণ কোর্স সাফল্যের সাথে সম্পন্ন করেন। একটি বিজ্ঞানমনস্ক জাতি গঠনে এবং সারা দেশে বিজ্ঞান ও প্রযুক্তির সুফল ছড়িয়ে দিতে তিনি নিরলস কাজ করে যাচ্ছেন।

Munira Sultana ndc, took charge as Director General of National Museum of Science and Technology on October 31, 2024 with the aim of building a science minded nation through informal science education programs.
She started her carrier in the Bangladesh Civil Service administration cadre in 1993. She served mostly in field administration and different ministries and directorate. She earned her degree of M.Sc. in Botany from the University of Dhaka. While in service, she earned a second Masters degree in Governance Studies from the Northern University, Dhaka. She completed the National Defense Course successfully in 2018 from National Defense College.
She acquired various professional training courses during her service period in home and abroad and keenly interested in building a science minded nation and spread the blessings of Science and Technology across the country.
