টিকটিকি

টিকটিকি  (ঘর গ্যাকোস) সাধারণ গেকো পরিবার, গেকোনিডির একটি বংশধর। এটির ৯০ প্রজাতি রয়েছে, নতুন কয়েকটি প্রতি বছর বর্ণিত হচ্ছে। এই গেকো বিশ্বের সব গ্রীষ্মমন্ডলীয় অঞ্চলে পাওয়া যায়,এশিয়া, আফ্রিকা এবং ইউরোপের উপগীষ্মমন্ডলীয় অংশে প্রসারিত। তারা ফ্লোটামে রাফটিংয়ের মাধ্যমে মহাসাগরীয় উপকূলে উপনিবেশ স্থাপন করে,  উদাহরণস্বরূপ পলিনেশিয়া অঞ্চল জুড়ে পাওয়া যায়। কিছু দ্বীপপুঞ্জে, রহস্যময় প্রজাতিগুচ্ছ পাওয়া যায়। গেকো বাড়িতে এবং বাইরে বসবাস করতে পছন্দ করে। তারা অস্ট্রেলিয়া থেকে পরিচিতি লাভ করেছে।

Lizard

Lizard (the house geckos) is a genus of the common gecko family, Gekkonidae. It has about 90 described species, newfound ones are described every few years. These geckos are found in all the tropical regions of the world, extending in the subtropical parts of Asia, Africa and Europe. They excel in colonizing oceanic islands by rafting on flotsam, and are found in most of the Polynesia. In some archipelagoes, cryptic species complexes are found. Geckos like to live in and out of houses. They have been introduced to Australia.
