ধারাবাহিক সংঘর্ষের মাধ্যমে কিভাবে ভরবেগ স্থানান্তর হয় এই প্রদর্শনীবস্ত্তটি তা প্রদর্শন করে। এটি নিউটনের ক্রাডল নামে বড় আকারের জনপ্রিয় নির্বাহী খেলনা। বিভিন্ন সূত্রমতে, ১৯৬৭ সালে ইংরেজ অভিনেতা সাইমন প্রেবল এই ডিভাইসটি উদ্ভাবণ করেন এবং আইজ্যাক নিউটনের সম্মানে এর নামকরণ করেন, এটি তাঁর আইন মেনে চলে ও সুন্দর ভাবে তা প্রদর্শন করে। এটি অন্যান্যদের কাছে নিউটনের বল নামেও অভিহিত। যখন অন্যদের ব্যাঘ্যাত না ঘটিয়ে একটি বলকে অন্য বলগুলোর রেখা বরাবর টেনে ছেড়ে দেয়া হয় তখন পাশের বলকে আঘাত করার পর ভরবেগ একটি নির্ধারিত গতিতে অন্যপ্রান্তে স্থানান্তরিত হয় (বস্তু মাধ্যমের মধ্যদিয়ে তরঙ্গের অতিক্রমের ঘটনার সাথে সাদৃশ্যপূর্ণ)। প্রান্তে পৌঁছানোর পর শেষ বলে কোন বাধা না থাকায় এটি অন্যদেরকে ব্যাঘাত না ঘটিয়ে চলতে শুরু করে। একই ভাবে, যখন দুইটি বল ছেড়ে দেয়া হয় তখন সেক্ষেত্রে সামনের প্রান্তের বলটির ভরবেগ অন্য প্রান্তে পৌঁছায় তখন পিছনের বলের ভরবেগটি প্রান্তের আগের বলটিতে পৌঁছায়। সেই কারণে দুইটি বল অন্যদেরকে ব্যাঘাত না ঘটিয়ে চলতে থাকে। যখন অনেকগুলি বল টেনে ছেড়ে দেয়া হয়, অনুরূপ ঘটনা পর্যবেক্ষণ করা যাবে। সুতরাং প্রদর্শনীবস্তুটি ভরভেগ ও শক্তি সংরক্ষণ নীতিকে চমৎকারভাবে প্রদর্শন করে।  

This exhibit demonstrates how momentum is transformed through series of collisions. This is a large version of a popular executive toy called Newton’s Cradle. According to various sources, English actor Simon Prebble invented this device in 1967 and named it in honour of Isaac Newton, whose laws it obeys and demonstrates so nicely. It is also known to some as Newton’s Balls. If one ball is separated along the line other balls without disturbing others and then it is released. After hitting the adjacent ball, the momentum is transferred at steady speed [just like propagation of wave though material media] to other end. After reaching the end, there is obstruction for the end ball and it continues to move keeping undisturbed others. Similar way, when two balls are released, when momentum of front ball is received at other end then the momentum of rear ball will reach the ball just before the end. So why two balls will continue their motion keeping undisturbed others. Similar phenomena will be observed when multiple number balls are released. So this apparatus demonstrates conservation of momentum and energy in an interesting way.
