অ্যাম্ফিউমা

অ্যাম্ফিউমা হচ্ছে আমেরিকার জলজ অ্যাম্ফিউমা গণের একমাত্র বংশধর যা অ্যাম্ফিউমিডি পরিবারের অন্তর্ভূক্ত। এরা জেলেদের কাছে কংগো ইল বা কংগো সাপ নামে পরিচিত । এটি বস্তুত স্যালামান্ডার, মাছ বা সরীসৃপ নয়। এর দেহ লম্বাটে যা সাধারণত ধূসর কালো বর্ণের হয়। এদের পা আছে যা খুব ছোট এবং সহজে দেখা যায় না। যেখানে অ্যাম্ফিউমা লম্বায় ১১৬ সে.মি হয় সেখানে এদের পাগুলো ২ সে.মি।

Amphiuma

Amphiuma is a genus of aquatic Amphiuma from the United States, the only extant genus within the family Amphiumidae. They are also known to fisherman as Congo eels or Congo snakes. Amphiumas are actually salamanders not fish nor reptiles. Amphiumas have an elongated body generally grey-black in color . They have legs but they are merely visible and very small .While amphiumas can be up  to 116 cm long .Their legs is only up to 2 cm .
