এটা এক ধরনের চাকা বিশেষ। বাসের চাকার ভিতরে বাতাস ভর্তি যে টিউব থাকে তার উপরে মোটা কাপড় ও রঙের প্রলেপ দিয়ে এটি তৈরি করা হয়। ফলে ডুবন্ত কোন মানুষকে উদ্ধার করার জন্য এ চাকা ফেললে সে অনায়াসে এটা ভর করে বেঁচে থাকতে পারে। এটাকে বলা হয় ডুবন্ত মানুষের আশ্রয়দাতা। কিন্তু বাতাস ভর্তি টিউবের একটি সমস্যা আছে। কোন কারনে এটি ফুটো হয়ে বাতাস বেরিয়ে গেলে এটি অকেজো হয়ে যায়। তাই এখন গোলাকার শক্ত ফোমের উপর মোটা কাপড় পেচিয়ে এবং পুরু রং করে রিং তৈরি করা হয়। এগুলো যেমন হালকা তেমন টেকসই ও কার্যকর।
