অ্যানোফিলিস মশা

J W Meigen ১৮১৮ সালে সর্বপ্রথম অ্যানোফিলিস মশার নামকরণ এবং বর্ননা করেন। এ পর্যন্ত ৪৬০ প্রজাতি আবিষ্কৃত হয়েছে যার মধ্যে ১০০ টি প্রজাতি মানবদেহে ম্যালেরিয়া পরজীবী প্রেরন করতে পারে। কেবলমাত্র ৩০-৪০ টি প্রজাতি সাধরনত প্লাজমেডিয়ামের পরজীবী বহন করে যার ফলে মানবদেহে ম্যালেরিয়ার পরজীবী স্থানান্তরের ক্ষেত্রে প্রধান ভূমিকা পালন করে বলে এটি সবচেয়ে বেশি পরিচিত।অন্যান্য মশাদের অ্যানোফিলিস এর জীবনচক্রে চারটি ধাপে ডিম লাভা পিউপা এবং পূণাঙ্গ অবস্থা সম্পন্ন হয়। প্রথম তিনটি ধাপ জলজ এবং প্রজাতি ও প্রাকৃতিক তাপমাত্রার উপর ভিত্তি করে ৫-১৪  দিন স্থায়ী হয়। স্ত্রী অ্যানোফিলিস মশা যখন ম্যালেরিয়ার ভেক্টর হিসেবে কাজ করে তখন সেই অবস্থাকে প্রাপ্ত বয়স্ক অবস্থা বলে। প্রাপ্ত বয়স্ক স্ত্রী  মশা গুলো ১ মাস পর্যন্ত বাঁচতে পারে কিন্তু দেখা যায় যে প্রকৃতিতে এরা ২ সপ্তাহের বেশি বাঁচতে পারে না।

Anopheles  Mosquito

Anopheles  is a genus of mosquito first described and named by J W  Meigen in 1818 . About 460 species are recognized ; while over 100 can transmit human malaria ,only 30-40 commonly transmit parasites of the genus plasmodium, which cause malaria in humans in endemic are as . Anopheles gambiae in one of the best known, because of its predominant role in the transmission of the most dangerous malaria parasite species.

Like all mosquitoes, Anopheles go through four stage in their life cycles; egg larva pupa and imago. The first three stage are aquatic and together last 5-14  days, depending on the species and the ambient temperature. The adult stage is when the female Anopheles mosquito acts as malaria vector. The adult females can live up to a month ( or more in captivity) but most probably do not live more than two weeks in nature.
