লাক্ষা(LAC)
ক্যারিয়া লাক্ষা (karrialacca) কর্তৃকনি:সৃতরেজিনজাতীয়পদার্থলাক্ষাপোকার ত্বকের নীচে ছড়িয়ে থাকা এক প্রকার গ্রন্থি থেকে আঠালো রস নি:সৃত হয়, যা ক্রমান্বয়ে শক্ত ও পরুু হয়ে পোষক গাছের ডালকে আচ্ছাদিত করে ফেলে। পোষক গাছের ডাল এর ওপরের লালা নি:সৃত আচ্ছাদনই লাক্ষা বা লাহা নামে পরিচিত । লাক্ষা চাষের ইতিহাস প্রায় ৪০০০ বছরের পুরনো । প্রায় ১০০ প্রজাতির পোষকে লাক্ষা জন্মাতে পারে। বাংলাদেশে কুল , শিরিষ, বট, পলাশ,বাবলা,ডুমুর ,অড়হড়,কুসুম প্রভূতি গাছে লাক্ষা ভাল জন্মে। বাংলাদেশের উত্তরাঞ্চলে লাক্ষার চাষ হয়ে থাকে। বিশেষ করে চাঁপাইনবাগঞ্জ , রাজশাহী ও তার পার্শ্ববর্তী এলাকায় । সবচেয়ে বেশি লাক্ষা উৎপাদিতহয়ভারতে।
লাক্ষার ব্যবহার
*কাঠের আসবাবপত্র বার্নিশ করা বিভিন্ন ধরনের বার্নিশ,পেইন্ট ইত্যাদি তৈরি ও পিতল বার্নিশ করার কাজে ।
*অস্ত্র কারখানার,রেলওয়ে কারখানায়
*বিভিন্ন অটোমোবাইল ইঞ্জিন মেরামত, রক্ষণাবেক্ষণে আঠালো ও জোড়া লাগানো পদার্থ হিসাবে।
*স্বর্ণালংকারের ফাঁপা অংশ পূরণে।
*ডাকঘরের চিঠি, পার্সেল ইত্যাদি সীলমোহর করার কাজে গালা হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
Itis resin type substance which is secreted by the karialacca .Resin type juice is secreted from the skin gland of lacca which covered to the trees branch , consistently being stout and thickening.Saliver secreting covering of the host tree branch is called lacca or laha .The lacca culture history is about 4000 years old. Lacca is grown on one hundred host.Lacca is grow on plum, lebbeck,banyan tree ,palas,Acacia, Fig ,pigeon pea, kusumetctrees.Lacca is cultured in the north Bengal of the country specially chapainawabganj, Rajshahi and its neibouringareas.The most lacca produced in India.
Uses of lacca
- Burnishing of woody furniture to make differen types burnish, paint and to burnish brass.
- Use in arms and railway factory
- Repairing automobile engine and maintain joining the parts
- To fill up the hollow part of jewellery
- To stamp of the post office letters, parcel etc, used as was.

মুনীরা সুলতানা এনডিসি, অনানুষ্ঠানিক বিজ্ঞান শিক্ষা কার্যক্রমের মাধ্যমে একটি বিজ্ঞানমনস্ক জাতি গঠনের লক্ষে ৩১ অক্টোবর, ২০২৪খ্রিঃ তারিখে জাতীয় বিজ্ঞান ও প্রযুক্তি জাদুঘরের মহাপরিচালক হিসেবে দায়িত্ব গ্রহণ করেন।
তিনি ১৯৯৩ সালে বাংলাদেশ সিভিল সার্ভিস প্রশাসন ক্যাডারে যোগদানের মধ্য দিয়ে কর্মজীবন শুরু করেন। তিনি বেশিরভাগ সময় বিভিন্ন মন্ত্রণালয় ও অধিদপ্তরে এবং মাঠ প্রশাসনে দায়িত্ব পালন করেন। ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে উদ্ভিদবিদ্যা বিভাগ থেকে তিনি স্নাতকোত্তর ডিগ্রি অর্জন করেন। চাকরিতে কর্মরত অবস্থায় তিনি নর্দান ইউনিভার্সিটি, ঢাকা থেকে গভর্নেন্স স্টাডিজ বিষয়ে দ্বিতীয় স্নাতকোত্তর ডিগ্রি অর্জন করেন। তিনি ২০১৮ সালে ন্যাশনাল ডিফেন্স কলেজ থেকে ন্যাশনাল ডিফেন্স কোর্স সাফল্যের সাথে সম্পন্ন করেন।
চাকুরিরত অবস্থায় তিনি দেশে এবং বিদেশে বিভিন্ন পেশাগত প্রশিক্ষণ কোর্স সাফল্যের সাথে সম্পন্ন করেন। একটি বিজ্ঞানমনস্ক জাতি গঠনে এবং সারা দেশে বিজ্ঞান ও প্রযুক্তির সুফল ছড়িয়ে দিতে তিনি নিরলস কাজ করে যাচ্ছেন।

Munira Sultana ndc, took charge as Director General of National Museum of Science and Technology on October 31, 2024 with the aim of building a science minded nation through informal science education programs.
She started her carrier in the Bangladesh Civil Service administration cadre in 1993. She served mostly in field administration and different ministries and directorate. She earned her degree of M.Sc. in Botany from the University of Dhaka. While in service, she earned a second Masters degree in Governance Studies from the Northern University, Dhaka. She completed the National Defense Course successfully in 2018 from National Defense College.
She acquired various professional training courses during her service period in home and abroad and keenly interested in building a science minded nation and spread the blessings of Science and Technology across the country.
