কুনোব্যাঙের জীবনচক্র

ডিমঃ  স্ত্রী ব্যাঙ বড় গুচ্ছাকারে পানিতে ডিম পারে। মাঝে মাঝে হাঁস, মাছ এবং পোকামাকড়  ডিমগুলো খেয়ে ফেলার কারণে সব ডিম পূর্নাঙ্গ ব্যাঙে পরিণত হতে পারে না  তবে কিছু ডিম ব্যাঙাচিতে পরিস্ফুটিত হয়।

ব্যাঙাচিঃ ডিম হতে এটি পরিস্ফুটিত হয়। ব্যাঙাচিতে পরিণত হতে ২১ দিন সময় লাগে । ব্যাঙাচি পানিতে সাঁতার কাটে এবং বেড়ে  উঠতে  ছোট ছোট উদ্ভিদসমূহ যেমন-শৈবাল খায় ।

লেজসহ ব্যাঙাচিঃ এই দশায় , ব্যাঙাচিতে পা সৃষ্টি হয় (পরবর্তীতে বাহু) , দীর্ঘাকার দেহ এবং মাথা দেখে সহজেই চেনা যায়। পরিবর্তনটি শুরু হতে ৫ সপ্তাহ সময় নেয়। স্থলে খাপ খাইয়ে নিতে ব্যাঙাচিটির ফুসফুস পরিস্ফুটন হতে শুরু করে।

অপ্রাপ্ত ব্যাঙঃ  এই দশায় প্রায় পরিণত ব্যাঙটি ফুসফূস দিয়ে শ্বাসকার্য চালায় এবং কতকটাতে তখনও লেজ থাকে । এই ব্যাঙাচিগুলো দেখতে অপ্রাপ্ত ব্যাঙের মত ।

পরিণত ব্যাঙঃ  এগারো সপ্তাহ পর , পূর্নাঙ্গ ব্যাঙ ফূসফূস দিয়ে শ্বাসকার্য চালায় এবং লেজ থাকে না (লেজ দেহের ভেতর নিয়ে নেয়) ব্যাঙটি অধিকাংশে সময় স্থলে থাকে । ব্যাঙটি পোকামাকড় এবং কীটনাশক খায়। পরবর্তীতে এই ব্যাঙগুলো প্রজননে লিপ্ত হয় এবং পুরো প্রক্রিয়াটি পুনরায় শুরু হয়।

Eggs - Tiny eggs are laid in very large groups in the water by the female frog. Not all eggs grow into frogs because ducks, fish, and insects sometimes eat the eggs, but some eggs hatch into tadpoles.

Tadpole - This stage hatches from the egg. It takes about 21 days for tadpoles to form. The tadpole spends its time growing, eating small plants called algae and swimming in the water.

Tadpole with legs - The tadpole spouts legs in this stage (and later arms), has a longer body and its head is easier to identify. It takes about 5 weeks for this change to begin. Lungs begin to develop to help prepare the frog to live on land.

Froglet - In this stage, the almost full grown frog breathes with lungs and still has some of its tail. These tadpoles are very frog-like.

Adult - After 11 weeks, the adult frog breathes with lungs and has no tail (the tail has been taken into the body). The frog will mostly live on land. The frog eats insects and worms. Later these new frogs will mate and the whole process begins again.
