লম্বিক তরঙ্গ : লম্বিক তরঙ্গ এমন একটি তরঙ্গ যাহাতে আন্দোলনরত কণাগুলির সরণ সর্বদা তরঙ্গ প্রবাহের সহিত একাত্মতা ঘোষণা করে। হস্তচালিত হাতলের সাহায্যে ক্যামকে ঘুরানো হয়। ক্যামের উৎকেন্দ্রিকতার কারণে অনুভূমিক দন্ডগুলির মাঝে ফাঁকা জায়গা সংকোচন ও প্রসারণের মাধ্যমে লম্বিক তরঙ্গ প্রদর্শন করে থাকে।

Longitudinal wave: Longitudinal waves are such wave in which displacements of the oscillating particles are along to the direction of propagation. A handle rotates a cam manually. Due to eccentricity of the cam, the spacing between horizontal rods [after 90⁰ turn of vertical rods] demonstrates the longitudinal wave while the rotation of the cam.
