প্রদর্শনীবস্তুটির সুইচ টিপ দিলে দেখা যাবে অ্যালুমিনিয়াম চাকতিটা সাথে সাথে লাফিয়ে উঠে হাওয়ায় ভাসতে থাকে।

কারণ :  চাকতির নিচে রাখা একটি তড়িৎ কুন্ডলীতে প্রত্যাবর্তী বিদ্যুৎ (অল্টারনেটিং কারেন্ট) চালনা করলে পরিবর্তনশীল চৌম্বক ক্ষেত্র তৈরি হয়। এর প্রভাবে চাকতির মধ্যে আবিষ্ট বর্তক্ষেপ বিদ্যুৎ (এসি কারেন্ট) প্রবাহিত হয়। তখন চাকতির চারপাশে এসি কারেন্ট জনিত চৌম্বক ক্ষেত্র তৈরি হয়। যার দিক সর্বদা লেঞ্জের সূত্র দ্বারা নির্মিত হবে এবং ফলঃশ্রুতিতে উভয় চৌম্বক ক্ষেত্রের পারস্পারিক বিকর্ষণের জন্যই চাকতিটা লাফিয়ে ওঠে। চৌম্বকবিকর্ষণের বল এক্ষেত্রে চাকতির উপর কার্যকরী মাধ্যাকর্ষণ বলের চেয়ে বেশি বলে চাকতিটা ওপরে ভেসে থাকতে পারে।

The alternating   current   flowing through a coil sets up a fluctuating magnetic field, which induces a    short-circuiting current through the aluminium disc. This current set up another magnetic field around the disc .The repulsion of two magnetic fields causes the disc to jump high. In this exhibit the magnetic force is greater than the force of gravity.
