এ প্রদর্শনীটির মাধ্যমে সূর্য এবং পৃথিবীকে নির্দিষ্ট একটি জায়গায় স্থির বিবেচনা করে চাঁদের ভিন্ন ভিন্ন দশা পর্যবেক্ষণ করা হয়। সূর্য , চাঁদ এবং পৃথিবী যখন একই সরলরেখায় অবস্থান করে এবং চাঁদের অবস্থান যখন সূর্য এবং পৃথিবীর মাঝখানে থাকে তখন পৃথিবী থেকে আমরা চাঁদের যে পৃষ্ঠটি দেখতে পাই তা অন্ধকার থাকে। এমতাবস্থায় পৃথিবীতে অমাবস্যা সংঘটিত হয়। আবার চাঁদের অবস্থান যখন সূর্য থেকে সবচেয়ে দূরে থাকে অর্থাৎ সূর্য এবং চাঁদের মাঝখানে যখন পৃথিবী থাকে তখন আমরা চাঁদের যে পৃষ্ঠটি দেখতে পাই সেটি আলোকিত থাকে। এমতাবস্থায় চাঁদ সবচেয়ে উজ্জ্বল থাকে এবং পৃথিবীতে পূর্ণিমা সংঘটিত হয়।

Through this exhibition, different phases of the moon are observed by considering the sun and the earth to be fixed in a certain place. When the sun, moon and earth are in the same straight line and when the position of the moon is between the sun and the earth, the surface of the moon that we see from the earth is dark. In this condition the new moon occurs on the earth. When the position of the moon is farthest from the sun, that is, when the earth is between the sun and the moon, the surface of the moon that we see is illuminated. In this case the moon is the brightest and full moon occurs on the earth.
